Green Mountain Academy based in Stowe, VT is hiring! Are you an experienced coach? Were you a competitive skier or snowboarder? Look no further for your perfect coaching job. We are looking for outstanding SKI & SNOWBOARD COACHES for winter programs at Stowe and Bolton Valley and well as a HEAD FREESKI COACH and FREESKI COMPETITION DIRECTOR.

SKI & SNOWBOARD COACHES
Coaches must:
-
Be passionate about skiing/snowboarding
-
Love working with youth athletes
-
Have teaching/coaching or competition experience
-
Have or be willing to work toward a certification through US Ski and Snowboard, USASA, IFSA, PSIA, or AASI
Responsibilities:
-
Coach athletes through progression in fundamental, discipline specific, and freestyle skills and toward their goals for improvement and competition.
-
Review goals with athletes and communicate regular verbal feedback to them and their parents.
-
Complete athlete evaluations mid-and end of season.
-
Communicate regularly with athletes' parents, other coaches, and supervisors
-
Supervise athletes during snacks, mealtimes, water and bathroom breaks
-
Be on time.
-
Be professional.
-
Complete US Ski and Snowboard training(s).
-
Participate in GMA trainings.
Employee Benefits:

$20 - $32hr. Pay rate determined by experience, professional development, and position.

HEAD FREESTYLE SKI COACH
Job Responsibilities:

Coach highest level athletes 3-4 days/wk and development group 1 day a week

Attend and coach at all relevant competitions

Coach athletes through progression in fundamental, discipline specific, and freestyle skills and toward their goals for improvement and competition.

Review goals with athletes and communicate regular verbal feedback to them and their parents.

Complete athlete evaluations.

Communicate regularly with athletes' parents, other coaches, and supervisors

FREESTYLE SKI COMPETITION DIRECTOR
Job Responsibilities:
-
Plan and execute full season of training:
-
Create and execute in and off season training trips and summer camps including booking venues, advertising, communicating directly with athletes’ families, driving athletes in the GMA van when necessary, managing athletes and coaches during trips & camps
-
Advise athletes/parents of recommended in and off season training
-
Coach highest level athletes 3-4 days/wk and development group 1 day a week
-
Review goals with athletes and provide consistent verbal feedback.
-
Complete athlete evaluations.
-

Plan and execute full winter season of competitions:
-
Create individual seasonal comp plans for athletes & communicate with athletes/families throughout season
-
Track podiums/points
-
Post information on Team App re: comps
-
Create & communicate weekly plan of who’s competing where when and who needs to train for what
-
Attend and coach at all relevant competitions
-
-
Ensures competition coach staff has USSS/USASA credentials/training as needed including helping coaches navigate sanctioning bodies’ requirements and access training opportunities
-
Provide training clinics and mentoring to coach staff
-
Attend weekly director’s meetings and collaborate with directors to provide a high-quality training and competition program
-
Complete US Ski and Snowboard and GMA training(s).
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Prior competition coaching experience
-
Competition experience as an athlete
-
Knowledge of trick progressions

Familiar with off snow training venues ie: Strength room/Trampolines/Airbags
-
USSS/USASA Certification(s)
-
CPR/1st Aid Certification
-
Solid communication skills, both oral and written

Basic computer literacy
